Quay Arts Cinema: Elephant

The Isle of Wight Film Network continues their programming for the Quay Arts cinema season from Jan – Apr 08 with their chosen theme of Cannes Film Festival award winners.

The Isle of Wight Film Network is an organisation for film professionals on the Island, and for bringing mainland filmmakers to work and shoot here.

An ordinary high school day.

Except that it’s not. This film follows one day in the life of several teenage high school students as they go about their daily routine, two others prepare for something more malevolent.

A fictional but eerily reminiscent telling of the 1999 Columbine tragedy – the worst school shooting in American history.

Much of the film is improvised and the characters are mostly played by non-actors.

‘Altogether compelling’
