Quay Arts is offering aspiring and returning artists a chance to reignite their creative spark with a comprehensive new course launching in the new year.
REBOOT : REFRESH, a dynamic 10-week programme, will run from Tuesday 13th January through to Tuesday 17th March 2026 at Jubilee Stores in Newport Harbour.
The course is designed to provide both structure and inspiration for anyone looking to explore their artistic potential or return to a practice they may have set aside.
Suitable for all levels
Whether participants are complete beginners or artists returning after a break, the programme promises to build confidence and deepen understanding of fundamental art techniques.
Professional artist and tutor Nick Martin will lead the core sessions, bringing his expertise to guide students through their creative journey.
The course runs weekly on Tuesdays, with each session lasting from 9.30am to 4pm, providing substantial time for focused creative work.
Guest tutors bring specialist knowledge
Four sessions throughout the programme will be led by guest artist tutors, each bringing their own specialist approach to different media.
Karen Mead will guide participants through printmaking, collagraphs and lino techniques.
Large-scale charcoal drawing will be explored with artist Caz Underwood.
Joshua Raffell will lead a session on papier-mache sculpture.
Ceramics sessions will also feature, with the tutor for this discipline to be confirmed.
Building fundamental skills
The programme will cover essential artistic foundations including tone, contrast, colour theory and perspective drawing.
These core elements provide the building blocks for developing a confident and informed art practice across multiple disciplines.
The variety of media and approaches ensures participants gain broad exposure to different artistic possibilities.
Booking details
The full ten-week course is priced at £750 and is open to all participants aged 18 and over. Sessions take place at Jubilee Stores, Newport Harbour, Isle of Wight PO30 2EF.
