Queen’s Police Medal for Hampshire Chief Constable

The Hampshire Chief Constable, Alex Marshall, made a very special trip to Windsor Castle yesterday.

Queen's Police Medal for Hampshire Chief ConstableHe wasn’t on a sightseeing tour, but in fact picking up the Queen’s Police Medal from none other than the Queen herself.

The medal acknowledges distinguished service by police officers.

Following the ceremony, Mr Marshall said:

“I am a very lucky man. Today, I have been to Windsor Castle and been honoured with a QPM by Her Majesty.

“The ceremony took place in fantastic surroundings. I felt very proud to accept the medal as the leader of an excellent constabulary.

“In many ways I am being rewarded for the hard work of everyone who works for Hampshire Constabulary, and I am grateful for the support I have been given throughout my 30 years as a police officer.”
