Quiver is a dazzling six piece band performing at Quay Arts this coming Friday night.
The band features musicians from Australia and South America.
Composer Casey Greene brings together a unique contemporary fusion of improvised jazz and Latino funk guaranteed to wow audiences and bring people to their feet.
Created by the composer and multi-instrumentalist, Greene, the original model for Quiver began in 1998 in his home town of Sydney, Australia.
“I wanted to create music that combines my two passions of Latin American Rhythms and Jazz harmony.”
So successful was this band that they went on to perform throughout the festivals and clubs of Sydney to great local acclaim.
Now based in Birmingham, Casey has put together the latest line up to showcase his original material.
Quiver is the perfect distillation of the vibrant West Midlands music scene, and since 2005 they have been building up an impressive National reputation playing the prestigious White Swan in Stratford upon Avon, Pontypool Jazz Festivals and Watermill Jazz Club in Surrey.
In May of 2007 they released their first CD , ‘Cous Cous’ on the Birmingham label REHAB RECORDS.
Playing new compositions that draw on their influences from across the globe, Quiver’s philosophy is simple.
To create music that uplifts and inspires an audience and above all is fun! Expect a performance that is bound to exhilarate!
