Radio show launches the Headfunk Live Sessions

Thanks to Tom for this news about upcoming live sessions hosted by Headfunk. The first event sounds great, mind you, we reckon they should change their name to Headfolk judging by the artistes being showcased. Ed

After three years of brilliantly eclectic DJ-based parties at The Blacksheep, (September’s event was a Guardian Guide pick of the week no less!) Headfunk introduce a parallel series of gigs presenting their favourite bands.

A logical progression for regular listeners to Headfunk’s Vectis Radio show, as live band sessions feature almost weekly.

The début Headfunk Live Sessions night will be at the Island’s micro-venue The Wight Rock Bar on Friday 5th October and features three bands all with a Folk influence.

All folked up
Blackhouse Crow have been creating a stir with their beautiful and delicate ‘Barge Folk’.

All Washed Up are a guaranteed dance band, playing Skiffle and Bluegrass with humour and style.

Beachcomber are a talented Folk band playing Trad Folk and some of their own compositions.

Hosting the evening will be Tom Headfunk and DJ Nipsy, who will also be breaking out some quality vinyl during and after the bands.

All the sets will be recorded and featured on a new Saturday night off-shoot radio show, unsurprisingly called ‘Headfunk Live Sessions’.

You can live to the Headfunk Show on every Friday 5-7pm
