Recycled Christmas cards will provide boost for Forest Stewardship Council

Sainsbury’s Newport Isle of Wight are providing local residents with a solution to make use of their Christmas cards this year.

The Newport Isle of Wight situated in Foxes Road now has a Christmas card recycling bin in their foyer where residents can bring in their cards between 26th December to the 15th January.

Forest Stewardship Council
The bin is situated in the foyer and Sainsbury’s is making a donation to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) based on the volume of cards collected.

Batteries taken too
The store are also offer other recycling facilities including Batteries – Sainsbury’s was the first UK retailer to offer a safe way for customers to dispose of batteries in every store with over 21 million batteries recycled by in the past year from in-store collections (equivalent to over 50 per cent of all the batteries it sold in that time).
