Red Funnel passengers experienced delays following problems with one of the vessels.
Following successful engine repairs, Red Falcon has returned into service at lunchtime.
A spokesperson for Red Funnel said,
“Our next scheduled sailings from Southampton and East Cowes are due to depart at 12:00, and we anticipate returning to our normal timetable with minimal delays from then.
“We apologise to those customers who were disrupted earlier this morning and we thank our engineers for their support in facilitating today’s urgent repair works.”
The delays were caused by an issue with Red Falcon’s aft main engine.
Red Eagle was also out of service for scheduled repairs, so Red Funnel were operating a one boat service with Red Osprey.
