Red Funnel has today announced their new timetables for the Winter.
While pointing out that they offer more sailings to the mainland than anyone else, Red Funnel also announce that from this coming Saturday, 31 October, the Vehicle Ferry service will depart every 90 minutes throughout the day from East Cowes and Southampton.
The current turntable sees the ferries on the same route is running every hour.
Back at the start of October, Red Funnel announced that up to fifty jobs may be lost, quoting the “highly seasonal” nature of their business as part of the reason for the layoffs. They also said “All sailings will continue normally in line with the published timetable.”
In the middle of October, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) announced that they would not refer Isle of Wight Ferries to the Competition Commission.
