Red Jets reduced to one-boat service for next two weeks

This in from Red Funnel in their own words, Ed

Unfortunately due to a lack of serviceable vessels, Red Funnel’s Red Jet service is reduced to a one boat service for approximately the next two weeks. This is due to damage sustained to Red Jet 5 and the unavailability of Red Jet 4 which is being overhauled as part of its annual refit.

First come first served basis
A one boat shuttle service will operate between the normal start and end times each day with boarding cards issued on a first come first served basis. Unfortunately delays are unavoidable at busier times due to the reduced capacity.

It is therefore recommended that wherever possible customers travelling between 0800-1900 use the East Cowes-Southampton service which is unaffected.

Football fans
Southampton FC fans travelling to the game on Sunday 6th October are advised to travel to Southampton via East Cowes and NOT via West Cowes.

The opening times for the contact centre and ticket offices have been extended and regular service updates will be issued via redfunnel.co.uk, SMS and twitter (@RF_Travel_News).

Red Funnel very much regrets the inconvenience to customers who can be assured the Company is doing all it can to charter a vessel from another operator and to return Red Jet 4 and 5 to service as soon as possible.
