Islander, Jackie Leavold got in touch today appealing for help from VB readers.
It appears that someone let her son’s kestrel loose from its tether while in the garden.
As the bird is captive bred she is unable feed herself. Jackie is asking that if you spot her landing in your garden calling to be fed, she is very tame and will get on a gloved hand.
Jackie and her son are very concerned for the welfare of the kestrel and are offering a reward for her return.
If you have spotted a kestrel which still has her jesses (what’s a jesse?) and swivel on, please either get in touch with Jackie through Facebook or contact us here at VB.
