Bartletts Service Station has announced it will cease its van hire service from July 2024.
The decision marks the end of an era for the Newchurch-based, family-owned garage, who say that uncontrollable surges in insurance premiums are the primary reason for discontinuing the service.
A strategic pivot
Since 1980, Bartletts has offered a comprehensive van hire service. However, the relentless increase in operational costs, particularly insurance, has made the service unsustainable.
This shift is part of a broader strategy to concentrate on the company’s core services: vehicle servicing, fleet maintenance, and recovery services. By focusing on these areas, Bartletts aims to strengthen its offerings and continue delivering high-quality service to its loyal customer base.
“Continued increase of insurance costs leaves us with no choice”
Manager Dan expressed the sentiment around this tough decision,
“Parting ways with a service that has been integral to our business for many years is never straightforward.
“However, the continued increase of insurance costs leaves us with no choice, but to say goodbye to our van hire service.”
He emphasised the company’s dedication to avoiding passing on these increased costs to customers and looking forward to enhancing the company’s mainstay services.
Continued dedication
Despite the end of the van hire service, Bartletts anticipates this transition will open new doors for growth and innovation in its specialised services.
Dan assured,
“This strategic shift gives us the opportunity to double down on our efforts towards advancing the excellence of our core services at our established Newchurch yard.
“We are committed to delivering unparalleled service standards and look forward to nurturing our valued customer relationships.”
