The final race in the Pearl Izumi Tour Series takes place later this week.
The Isle of Wight successfully hosted the opening of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series in May 2015
However, sadly the race will not be on the Isle of Wight this time, but in Portsmouth.
Arrival of Festival goers
A number of road closures and car park closures will be in place on Thursday 9th June, just as thousands of festival goers arrive in Portsmouth to head over to the Island for the Isle of Wight Festival.
Wightlink have issued a warning to ferry passengers for this week. They say,
“When travelling to and from Portsmouth car ferry terminal make sure you leave extra time for your journey. Traffic is likely to be busy over the Isle of Wight Festival period, and some roads will be closed for the Pearl iZumi cycle race in Portsmouth.
“Vehicles travelling to our terminal will be diverted down Park Road and turning onto Burnaby Road (postcode PO1 2HB) for most of the day on Thursday.
“Take care when driving as many spectators are expected to watch the main event that starts in the evening.”
