List of roadworks and road closures taking place week starting Monday 1st June as provided by Island Roads.

ARRETON:
A3056 Arreton Street
will be closed from 9am on Monday 20 April 2015 until approx. 6pm on Saturday 11 July 2015 between Downend Road and Hale Common. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage and kerbing works by Island Roads and the road will be closed to through traffic day and night. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works. The works will start at the junction with Downend Road and progress towards Hale Common. The alternative routes will be: 1)-A3056 Arreton Road, Sandown Road, Blackwater Shute, A3020 Blackwater Hollow, Main Road, Newport Road, High Street (Godshill), Shanklin Road, Canteen Road , Ventnor Road, A3056 Newport Road and Hale Common. 2)-Downend Road, Mersley Down Road, Brading Down Road, Bullys Hill, Hornsey Rise, A3055 Morton Road Morton Common, Broadway, Lake Hill and Sandown Road, A3056 Newport Road and Hale Common. A temporary 6ft 6in width restriction order will be introduced in a number of roads the Newchurch area including Knighton Shute, Knighton Lane, Langbridge, The Shute, High Street and Winford Road in the interests of road safety during the Arreton Street closure. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained. Temporary no waiting restriction will be in operation in Ventnor Road (Apse Heath) to assist with traffic flow. BRADING:
Marshcombe Shute
Full closure. The road will be totally closed from 9am on Tuesday 26 May 2015 for approximately 4 weeks from a point 45 metres to the East of Yarbridge Crossroads to Yaverland Road junction to install new safety barriers at Marshcombe Shute railway and River Yar bridges followed by carriageway surfacing works throughout Marshcombe Shute by Island Roads. Traffic will be diverted in both directions via: B3395 Yaverland Road and Culver Parade, Fort Street, Avenue Road A3055 Morton Road and Morton Common. Temporary parking restrictions and road and pedestrian road closures will be introduced on Friday 5 June / Saturday 6 June 2015 in a number of roads in Cowes in connection with Royal Yacht Squadron Bi-centenary event. No Parking will be permitted on The Parade from 8am until approx. midnight on Friday 5 June 2015. Vehicles will not be permitted to travel along the following roads between 12pm (noon) and 10pm on Friday 5 June 2015; The Parade, Union Road/Market Hill, High Street/Bath Road, Castle Hill, Queens Road from its junction with Castle Hill to its junction with Mornington Road, The Grove and Trinity Church Lane. EAST COWES:
Esplanade
will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip. FRESHWATER:
Gate Lane
(from opposite main car park to the Albion Hotel). GURNARD:
Marsh Road
will be closed from 9am on Tuesday 2 June 2015 until 5pm on Wednesday 3 June 2015 between Solent View Road and Rew Street. The closure is necessary for the installation of a new water service outside of number 4 by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. The diversion route will be: Solent View Road, Worsley Road, Tuttons Hill, Place Road, Pallance Road and Rew Street. ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL – FOOTPATH CLOSURES
The following paths/areas will be closed in the interests of public/pedestrian safety in connection with the Isle of Wight Festival: Footpath N120 (from Island Harbour Marina to Seaclose Park access road (adjacent to Seaclose Park) will be closed to pedestrians from Thursday 28 May until the morning on Monday 22 June 2015. The Cycle track leading off path N120 to Medina High School and footpath N120 (between Jubilee Stores and Seaclose Park access road) will also be closed from Thursday 28 May until the morning on Monday 22 June 2015.

LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path.
From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. NEWPORT:
A3054 Fairlee Road
(at Mews Lane, near private hospital). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday 17 June 2015 for traffic counter maintenance works by TDC Systems. Carisbrooke Road (from Drill Hall Road to Field Place) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3pm on each day, Mondays to Fridays between Tuesday 26 May and Monday 8 June 2015 for retaining wall works by Island Roads. Mill Street will be closed from 9am on Monday 30 March until approx. 6pm on Friday 3 July 2015 between Old Westminster Lane and the end of the highway 35 metres to the Northwest. The closure is necessary for highway development works including the construction of a new junction onto Foxes Road by Aeropark Developments for Barrett Homes. There is no diversion route for traffic, however vehicular access will be maintained as far as possible. Roundabouts at Riverway / sliproad to Medina Way, Riverway / Hunnycross Way and Holyrood Street / sliproad from Riverway. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 7.30pm until midnight on each night from Monday 1 June until Friday 5 June 2015 for carriageway repairs and the raising of manhole and gully covers by Island Roads. Public Footpath N120 will be closed to pedestrians from 6am on Friday 6 March until 6am on Sunday 6 September 2015 between; A point 474 metres north to a point 516 metres north of the northern boundary of Seaclose Recreation Ground and a point 585 metres north to a point 607 metres north of the northern boundary of Seaclose Recreation Ground. The diversion route for pedestrians is through adjacent woodland at each location. Local path closures are required in the interests of pedestrian safety whilst footbridges are closed at the Footbridge B319 at South Fairlee Farm and the Footbridge B318 at The Roundhouse. Blacklands Lane will be close between 6.30am and 6pm on 3 to 5 days starting on approx. Tuesday 2 June 2015 from Briddlesford Road to Staplers Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. RYDE:
The Strand will be closed between East Street and West Hill Road from 9am on Friday 21 November 2014 until Tuesday 30 June 2015. The closure is for a Sewer Flood Alleviation Scheme to upsize the existing sewer pipeline. The diversion route will be; West Street, Dover Street and Esplanade. Works are due to start near to the junction with West Hill Road. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation when necessary from Monday 17 November 2014 until the end of the scheme. ST LAWRENCE:
St Lawrence Shute
will be closed from 9am until 4pm on Tuesday 2 June 2015 between Seven Sisters Road and Whitwell Road. The closure is necessary for the installation of a new water pressure logging point by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. The diversion route will be: Seven Sisters Road, A3055 Undercliff Drive and Steephill Road, Castle Road, Gills Cliff Road and Whitwell Road. A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained.During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be; Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive. VENTNOR:
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102
will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street. A3021 Whippingham Road
. Carriageway resurfacing works by Island Roads.
A road closure will be required to surface the last section of Whippingham Road between East Cowes Road and Alverstone Road (near Folly Lane). Traffic will be diverted via; Alverstone Road. This section is programmed to start at 7.30pm on the night of Thursday 28 May 2015 and should take about 5 or 6 nights (on Mondays to Fridays) to complete. Some traffic delays will occur.
