Robin Hill Garden Show Cancelled Due To Waterlogged Site

If you were looking forward to taking part or going along to the annual garden show at Robin Hill this weekend, you’ll be disappointed to hear that it has been cancelled.

Waterlogged site:Thanks to the VB readers who got in touch this morning to alert us to the cancellation.

We spoke with James Croft earlier who confirmed that due to huge amount of rain over the last few days, they won’t be able to put on the show.

Unforeseen and regrettable
He explained that it was unforeseen and regrettable, but that the decision was the safest for exhibitors and visitors. They wouldn’t do it lightly, he said.

Darren Cool said, “We had a river of water flowing through the Floral Marquee this morning after our land drains couldn’t take any more.

“It was ironic that we have just had the driest winter on record, but Mother Nature usually has to balance things up. It’s just a shame that she chose this week to do it. The Robin Hill team have been pulling out the stops to make the event happen in some quite dreadful conditions, but we cannot overcome such insurmountable problems such as severe water logging.”

Full refunds available
Re-scheduling for later in the year would be difficult, as they have other shows already booked, but they’re looking forward to the garden show returning in 2013.

If you have already bought tickets, you can claim a full refund including exhibitors fees.
