Runners from Ryde Harriers keeping busy

Thanks to Tom for this latest report from the Ryde Harriers. Ed

Just under three years since the incredible spectacle of the Olympic Games took place Ryde Harrier Adam Tuck got to relive the glory in the Great Newnham Run, with its final 300m being in the Olympic Stadium. He set an excellent new personal best for the 10km distance of 36:27 and finished a superb 34th out of over 10,000 other runners.

The Lakeland 100
Meanwhile Les Cupis was also testing himself to the limits but this was over a much greater distance.

Cupis is well-known for his incredible ultra-running capabilities, but the Lakeland 100 can push anyone to breaking point with a hundred miles of Cumbrian paths to climb. He finished with a superb time of 29 hours 55 minutes and set a new personal best by four hours and 40 minutes.

Latest club night
Back at more leisurely distances and the latest club night events for Ryde Harriers were two multi-terrain runs on the same night.

In Ryde, seventeen runners took on the Westridge Round, with Simon Spencer crossing the line first in 41:45 whilst Trevor Mcalister took the nomination points as he finished just thirteen seconds behind his stated time of 46 minutes.

Over in Sandown, nine runners headed out on the Seamark Six with first home Rod Parker in 49:07 and Peter Carr taking this nomination competition as he was just fifteen seconds ahead of his stated time of 58:30.
