Ryde advice service now sees more than 200 clients a month

Ryde Information and Support Service (RISS) is celebrating National Advice Week (19th–23rd October 2026), highlighting the growing demand for accessible advice and support.

Demand from across the Island
A Ryde Town Council service based at Ryde Library, RISS has gone from strength to strength since it was established in November 2024.

The service now sees more than 200 clients every month, with increasing numbers of residents travelling from other parts of the Isle of Wight to access its services in Ryde.

Why National Advice Week matters
National Advice Week celebrates the vital role advice organisations play in helping people navigate challenges, understand their options and access the advice they need.

Working towards full accreditation
Keith Sheldrake, RISS Service Manager, said,

“RISS continues to develop its service to meet the needs of its clients. We are now registered with AdviceUK and have recently received a grant from Ryde Neighbourhood Board, which will enable us to gain full accreditation as an advice service.”

The growing number of people visiting RISS reflects the importance of having accessible advice available locally, with the service welcoming residents from Ryde and other parts of the Island at its base in Ryde Library.

When to visit
The RISS opening hours are:

  • Mondays: 10am–3pm
  • Tuesdays: 9am–3pm
  • Fridays: 9am–3pm
