Ryde Carnival is thrilled to announce that bookings are now live for the much-anticipated wheelchair accessible viewing platform at Eastern Gardens.
This platform will provide an exceptional viewing point for both the Main Carnival and the spectacular Illuminated Carnival, ensuring an inclusive experience for all attendees.
Fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity
Ryde Carnival is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and the introduction of the accessible viewing platform emphasises this commitment.
This platform is one of our initiatives to ensure that everyone can participate and enjoy the Carnivals, irrespective of mobility challenges. Please note that booking is essential.

Chair of Ryde Carnival, Jo Morrison said,
“We are excited to introduce the wheelchair accessible viewing platform at Ryde Carnival. Our mission has always been to create a Carnival that welcomes and celebrates the diversity of our community.
“We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity and partake in the Carnivals from the comfort of the platform.
Carnival details
- Main Carnival – Thursday 31 August – Procession moves off at 6.30pm
- Illuminated Carnival – Saturday 2nd September – Procession moves off at 8.30pm
- Route – Esplanade, Dover Street, Park Road, Star Street, High Street, Union Street, Esplanade (south side). Disperse from George Street junction.

For those attending the Main Carnival on 31st August: Please be in place by 6.15pm to secure your spot for the vibrant Main Carnival celebrations.
For those attending the Illuminated Carnival on Saturday 2nd September be in place by 8.15pm to immerse yourself in the breathtaking display of illuminated floats and performances.
