Ryde Carnival Float 2019

Ryde Carnival urgently seeking new space for trailer and storage container

Can you help Ryde Carnival?

Since 2008, Ryde Carnival Association have kept their storage container and royalty float trailer on land at the back of the Westridge Centre, Ryde, paying annual rent of £520 to Isle of Wight Council.

New storage space needed
The Isle of Wight council have recently asked the association to find a new home with effect from 1st April 2022.

The carnival association is looking for storage space for their props, trailer, with enough space and access to be able to build the float for the summer carnival season.

Morrison: End the summer on a high
Jo Morrison, Chair of Ryde Carnival Association said:

“We’re a tiny, volunteer organisation and we organise Ryde Carnival alongside work and family commitments. We’re thrilled to be planning Ryde Carnival after two years off because of Covid.

“However, we weren’t expecting to be told to move and we don’t have any other permanent space to go to.

“If anyone has any space, ideally in or around Ryde, that they are willing to rent to the association, we would love to hear from you.

“We want to end the summer on a high with a fun-filled Carnival week and finding a new home would be a weight off all our minds.”
