Thanks to Cora for sharing news from the Ryde East Community Association, we wish them all well continuing their work in the community. Ed

Park CentreAfter six years Ryde East Community Association closes its doors for the final time on The Park Community Centre.

Lottery funding ended three years ago, and despite every effort, the organisation has realised that it is not able to continue providing a drop-in facility at the Centre.

Church will run the hall again
The building will be handed back to St John’s Church on 31st March 2012.

However, RECA will endeavour to continue its work within the community, and St John’s Church will take back the running of the church hall.

During RECA’s time at the community centre, they have been able to help many people, from sign-posting for advice to being an ear to listen, and just as importantly, being able to help members of the community to gain skills and experience to help further their careers and life plans.

Thanks to all those who’ve showed support
Through the Park Community Centre’s operation, RECA has been supported by many partners, including Ryde Town Council, Ryde Rotary Club, and St. John’s Church, to name but a few.

Trustees would like to thank RECA’s dedicated staff and volunteers for their support throughout the six years, without whom the delivery of such a diverse programme of activities and support could not have been possible.
