Thanks to Tom for this latest report from Ryde Harriers. Ed
First up was the latest 10km nominated race.
Mr Consistent
Back on the old course with it’s enjoyable wheeze up Well Street in the first mile. The points went to this season’s ‘Mr Consistent’, Andy Lewis, who was only six seconds out from his stated time.
Mandy Womack took the second place points 36 seconds out of her nomination and third was Julie King. Fastest on the night were Simon McMorran and Tom Blackwell for the men, they crossed the line together on 41.19 with Sarah Kavanagh fastest women in a time of 43.28.
More recently was the five mile race which involves a loop of 5km and then a mile out and then a mile back along Ryde Esplanade.
First home was Simon McMorran, who showed no ill effects from his Bath half-marathon two days previously as he cruised away to take the points in a time of 31.32. First home for the women was Sarah Kavanagh who set a five mile personal best of 33.11, no mean feat with a tricky hill near the start. There were points also in the vets categories with Julie King taking first vet 45, Brian Warren first vet 40 and Graham Skelly first vet 60.
