On Sunday 21st August, Ryde Harriers will again support the Isle of Wight Youth Trust with the third, Isle of Wight Youth Trust Fun Run which will run alongside the Isle of Wight Half Marathon.

This family friendly fun run costs just £6 to enter for those under 18 years of age and £10 for those over 18, with a family discount available.

Supporting Isle of Wight Youth Trust
All money raised will go to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust who provide free, professional and confidential counselling for children and young people on the Isle of Wight. Download the entry form from the Ryde Harriers’ Website (PDF).

Chris Lewis, Race Secretary for Ryde Harriers, said that the club has enjoyed working with the Youth Trust and hopes this year will be a great success.

“This is the third year Ryde Harriers has supported the Youth Trust with a Fun Run at our annual Isle of Wight Half Marathon. Entries have increased over previous years with a new format this year of a 1km lap in Appley Park. It’s 2km for under 14s and 5km for over 14s but we’d like to encourage anyone to do as many laps as they like up to 5km.

“It’s going to be great fun for the whole family, people can dress up, parents can run with their little ones or push them in a buggy. All finishers will receive a medal for their efforts and know they’ve done their bit to support kids in need.”

Valuable support
Eileen Monks OBE, Director of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, added,

“We are overwhelmed by the community support that we receive – we offered nearly 4,000 counselling sessions last year and this wouldn’t be possible without the support of groups like the Ryde Harriers.

“We would like to thank Chris and all of the team at Ryde Harriers, as well as our corporate sponsors at Wightlink for sponsoring travel on the day.”
