Ryde’s Night At The Museum: Experience history and heritage at the Royal Victoria Arcade

Enjoy an evening with a difference in Ryde’s beautifully restored Grade II* Listed Royal Victoria Arcade, where all funds generated will go directly towards keeping the town’s Museum open.

The fascinating ancient Arcade cellar+ is the Museum’s home, and the evening gives visitors a chance after hours, to explore the labyrinth of whitewashed brick arched rooms brimming with local often quirky artefacts and film footage, including hundreds of once banned saucy postcards from acclaimed artist Donald McGill .

Music and refreshments
Cheeses, wines and whisky will be generously supplied by co-hosts Union Street’s Pickle & Dill and the Arcade’s Sip & Smoke, serenaded with live music from local artistes.

The Historic Ryde Society will be giving guided tours of the Museum throughout the evening, and you never know, one or two of the ancient inhabitants might make a comeback appearance before they return to their cellar home for the night.
