Sandi Toksvig talks to On The Wight (podcast)

Earlier in the year On The Wight were proud to be sponsoring one of the headline acts at the 2012 Isle of Arts Festival.

When we were asked to get involved we were over the moon to hear that organisers had secured the very lovely Sandi Toksvig.

We’ve been fans of Sandi’s work for many years, latterly on the News Quiz (which, incidentally, returns to Radio4 tonight at 6.30pm) so were delighted not only to sponsor the event, but also to have the opportunity to meet up with her for a chat.

Prior to the show, we squeezed in 15 minutes at the back of the festival box office with Sandi to find out a bit more about the woman behind the oh-so-familiar voice.

“Grab life by the throat”
We covered a wide variety of subjects including her prolific professional output, new role as Vice-Chancellor at Portsmouth University, her passion for educational equality, LEGO, working on the News Quiz, the merits of remaining focused and where many discussions tend to up, politics.

Sandi came across as a genuinely passionate woman, we only wish we could have spent longer chatting to her.

Those who went along to her sold out show we’re sure will agree it was delivered with great wit, sincerity and professionalism.

Why not sit back and see what she had to say (and perhaps you can remember the clock museum she remembers visiting as a child)
