The 17-year-old boy arrested after an incident at a Jewellers in Sandown on Wednesday, January 6 has since been charged and held in remand.

The 17-year-old boy from Sandown has been charged with assault, attempted robbery, threaten a person with an offensive weapon and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court charged with the offence of threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place on Wednesday, January 13.

He will then appear at Isle of Wight Crown Court on February 5 for the four other offences.
