Owners of property at the Sandown Bay Holiday Centre have been told that the owners of the site have gone into receivership.
The way it’s been reported to us, chalet owners are happy about this, as there’s been a long history of difficulties with the previous owners.
On 9 May, the Court appointed receivers, who in-turn appointed local Chartered Surveyors, Daniells Harrison, to manage the site.
A run of disputes
Back at the start of 2009 Glenn Collins and Christine Conwell took over the site, announcing plans for a multi-million pound development on the site to the County Press.
More recently, disputes between those with owning holiday homes and the site owners have intensified, leading to rubbish not being collect from the site and the grass not being cut.
VentnorBlog spoke to David Wiggins from Daniells Harrison who are now handling the management of the site.
He told VB that they were, “In the process of sorting things out.” The both the grass cutting and rubbish collection have now been sorted out, which Mr Wiggins said were the, “first step to sorting things out.”
A fence will be placed around the gun-emplacement, to provide security after it was partly excavated by previous owner causing a safety issue.
“The previous owners are being helpful,” Mr Wiggins said.
Service charge
When we spoke to Mr Wiggins about the previous-disputed service charge he told VB that there had been, “Complications around the service charge,” and that they are in the process of making “Proper arrangements for service charge.”
Speaking to one of the people who have a holiday chalet there, they told VB, “I am relived that the previous owners are no longer in charge.”
