Saturday Club offers free art and design workshops for young people aged 13-16

This autumn, Shademakers UK are once again delivering The National Saturday Club.

Starting from October and running through to June 2026, young people aged 13 to 16 years old have an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in art and design techniques through exploring a range of themes, all for FREE.

Every Saturday morning
Based at Department in Ryde, those who sign up to the club will have access to the facilities and work with creatives every Saturday, 10am-1pm.

Through a range of activities, Saturday Club members will explore how creativity shapes who we are, where we live and the world around us.

The perfect hub to learn new skills and try new things
No prior artistic experience is needed, Project Co-ordinator Zoe Thompson explains,

“We hear from a lot of young people that feel they are ‘no good at art’. In fact, given the right opportunities to just get creative, and use our imaginations, it can be a brilliant surprise as to what can be achieved.

“Department is the perfect hub to learn new skills and try new things.

“With such a range of talented makers and creators to work alongside it will be a fantastic series of free workshops.”

What is The Saturday Club?
The Saturday Club is part of a network of over 100 organisations, with all participating groups having the chance to take part in national events.
