Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the Isle of Wight.
Police were called at just before 9.40pm last night (25th August) to reports of a road traffic collision on Newport Road, Apse Heath.
This involved a scooter and a car and sadly the male rider of the scooter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ventnor woman arrested
A 36 year old woman from Ventnor has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She remains in custody at this time.
Road closures were put in place last night and these have now been lifted.
Investigation underway
Officers are investigating the circumstances that led to this collision.
