The 34 year old was last seen at his home address in Victoria Road South at about 5.00pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
He is described as white, about 6ft 2ins tall with dark brown hair and grey eyes.
He is believed to be wearing a dark jacket and dark jeans.
Police are also interested in locating a Silver Ford Focus, registration YS03 WHE.
PC Kieren Mansell said:
“We are concerned for Matthew’s welfare, if you have seen him or know where he is please contact me as soon as possible.
“Equally I would appeal to Matthew to contact police to let us know he’s ok.”
