Passengers using South Western Railway (SWR) services today (Monday) from London Waterloo have been urged not to travel until further notice.
The warning comes after a major fault with the signalling equipment made Platforms 1 to 14 unusable.
Delays and cancellations across the network
This fault has caused significant disruption to train services to and from the UK’s busiest railway station.
Most SWR trains are currently unable to run, with delays of up to 60 minutes and widespread cancellations expected for the rest of the day.
Ticket acceptance on other routes
To help affected passengers, SWR tickets are being accepted on other operators’ services at no extra charge.
Travellers can use their tickets on CrossCountry, Southern, and Great Western Railway services for journeys on specific routes.
Repairs underway
Engineers are on-site working to fix the damaged signalling system.
SWR aims to resume a limited service later this evening, but disruption is expected to continue until the issue is resolved.
