A collapsed culvert in Shanklin is to be fixed to help prevent flooding.
The Isle of Wight council said the repair was necessary to prevent a repeat of the flooding of homes and businesses on Collingwood Road and Brook Path during heavy rain.
Emergency works started this morning (Monday) and are expected to take around four weeks to complete.
