The madness that is the first day of the Shanklin Rotary Charity sale was a roadblock – quite literally in the end.
The doors opened at 10am this morning, with a long queues of bargain-hunters from all over the Island who had been waiting there well-in-advance of the doors opening.
Inside, the large room was packed with people looking to pick up a bargain (we left with 50 7″ singles, 20 LPs, an FM radio, a toaster and two pans!).
As you can see from the picture, it was packed.
Outside, despite the best efforts of Rotary members who organised the event, traffic became backed-up to the main road as the bargain-hungry tried to get into Lower Hyde and the bargain-satisfied tried to leave to go off and polish their gains.
On for two weeks
It’s an event well-worth supporting and is on for the next two weeks.
