Shingle from Ventnor beach blankets esplanade after high tide and strong winds

Whilst Cowes was left underwater from last night’s high tide, at the opposite end of the Island, Ventnor’s seafront was covered in shingle.

The high tides and strong winds resulted in shingle from the beach covering the road and footways along the esplanade. Take care if walking or driving along the seafront.

Blakes Longshoremen have had to keep their cafe hut closed today (Tuesday) due to the strong winds and high tides.
