Readers will remember the two previous Shock Cash Mob events that took place in Newport.
Organiser Lyn Blackledge tells us that she and Julie Jones-Evans have organised yet another for the weekend, this time in Ryde.
The first event saw 20 shoppers descend on Trade Winds in Newport. Lyn told On The Wight, “I popped in to see Ian (at Tradewinds) yesterday and he confirmed that they had the best day of the year that day and have since seen a huge increase in sales as a direct result. The ripple effect is continuing.”

If you’d like to take part in Saturday’s event in Ryde, meet outside the NatWest Bank at 11.30am – with fiver in hand to spend in local independent trader (only Julie and Lyn know who is the target.)
Lyn tells is that Missy J Café has offered all ‘cashmobbers’ a 10% discount and a free Christmas pie once they’ve finished their shopping.
