Snapshot Initiative By The Rural Community Council

Snapshot Initiative By The Rural Community CouncilThe Isle of Wight is a hotbed for voluntary organisations, which should help with an initiative taking place next week.

The Rural Community Council have been in touch with VentnorBlog asking for our help to spread the word about ‘Snapshot’.

It’s an initiative aiming to record as many of the wonderful things that voluntary groups and organisations on the Island are responsible for.

It all takes place next week, starting on Monday and is very simple to take part in.

If you are involved in a group or organisation all you need to do is complete a one page form which can be found online (links goes directly to form), in the One Island magazine or this weeks County Press.

You’ll be asked what activities the group is running, the number of volunteers supporting the activity and who is benefiting from it.

It’s as simple as that.

The purpose of the survey is to measure the depth of activities in the voluntary and community sector (VCS) on the Island. The VCS includes a wide variety of groups, organisations and activities. Examples include: –

* Sports clubs
* Voluntary groups and organisations
* Charities
* Social clubs
* Faith and church groups
* Community groups and organisations

If you cannot fit all of your activity on one form, please use as many as necessary. Every group that completes and submits a recording form will have a chance of winning a new digital camera worth £300.00!

If you have any questions or are not sure if you are a part of the Island VCS please do not hesitate to contact Karl Dyson at the IWRCC on 524058 or karl.dyson(at)iwrcc.org.uk
