Soul II Soul: A Message From Pinkie Beige

It’s certainly a day for the lovely ladies on VentnorBlog.

Soul II Soul: A Message From Pinkie BeigeWell done again to Becky, who picked up two tickets yesterday to see Soul II Soul on Friday at Ryde Theatre (have you got your tickets yet?) in our ‘make us laugh’ competition.

It was unfortunate that the following entry, by one of our fledgling forum members, Miss Pinkie Beige, arrived after the cut off time …. if she hadn’t been tied up and unable to call, she may’ve been in the running for the tix. She was too late for the competition, but we thought we’d publish her words anyway (with her permission natch).

So young master Jazzie is to visit our fair isle! How well I remember him as a lad in olde Camden Town. He’d skip from phone box to phone box, his trousers bulging with blu tac & cards – happy to make himself useful.

One of my marketing slogans at the time was ‘How ever do you want me, how ever do you need me’ and he’d often produce little ditties to fit.

I like to think I had more than a passing influence on his burgeoning gifts – on those occasions when I’d slip into his box with ‘Steady, are you ready’. He didn’t have to ask ‘What’s going on?’ more than the once. After that it was all ‘Keep on, don’t stop, don’t stop!’ Bless.

Well, as we used to say in the saloon bar at the Old Mother Black Cap, ‘A happy face, a thumpin bass, for a lovin race. THE FUNK! DRED.
