Southern Vectis run special offer to help boost to Yarmouth traders

To support traders and residents in Yarmouth, Southern Vectis is introducing a special return fare on route 7 from Newport to Freshwater, Yarmouth and Totland for the duration of the road works on the main road to Yarmouth.

The return fare costing £5 for adults and £2.50 for children is valid between any two points on route 7 from 9:30am on weekdays and all day on weekends to encourage more people to travel by bus and visit Yarmouth with its selection of speciality shops and eateries.

Special offers
Southern Vectis have been working with Destination Yarmouth on a number of offers for bus visitors to Yarmouth.

Offers for bus passengers so far include:

  • Forresters Nammit – half price sandwiches
  • Butterflies Cafe – a free luxury hand made chocolate with any hot drink purchased
  • Wight Cycle Hire – kids go free when adults paying full price bike hire
  • Ivory Hair saloon – 15% off all services
  • Number Twenty – free antique mounted print* with every £50 spent in store (* from selected range)

To qualify for the offer bus passengers just need to show their ticket or pass.

Talking about the offers, Matt Kitchin, General Manager for Southern Vectis said,

“Despite the road closure it’s great to see businesses in Yamouth pulling together to give people a reason to visit and we’re happy to play our part. Buses are continuing to serve Yarmouth with a diversion via Freshwater first, before Yarmouth then onto Totland, Alum Bay and The Needles Park.”

Anthea Payne, the Interim Chair of Destination Yarmouth added,

“We have been very impressed by the quick and generous response of Southern Vectis. By working together, we can make a real difference and keep Yarmouth trading whilst the roads and closed.”
