The final game for the Ventnor Seconds saw a defeat, but they had a swear jar running all day raising money for local Cancer charity, P.A.T.C.H, ahead of the Boxing Day Swim.
As is always the case with this fixture, the game was far from friendly. It was dominated by strong forward play, tough tackling and hard to break defences throughout.
With the sun shining on the south coast of the Island, the season got off to a terrific start thanks to two teams playing the game exactly the way it should be played.
Ventnor's first team kept the pressure on throughout the game, but it wasn't to be. A great effort made by all against top-of-the-league, Ellingham and Ringwood.
