St Catherine’s supporters take on the Great South Run

Thanks to Hannah for this latest news from St Catherine’s. Ed

Sunday 28th October saw seven St Catherine’s supporters take part in the biggest ever Great South Run in aid of children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.

Making up the St Catherine’s team were Elaine Taylor (mother of a St Catherine’s student), Sam and Katy Smith, Brian Attrill, Mark Wheeler, Arielle Elton-Walters and Jo Randall. The team of seven were among a record 25,000 runners who took part in the Portsmouth Race.

Hannah Davison, Fundraising and Marketing Assistant at St Catherine’s said, “A big thank you to each of the runners for choosing to support our charity. The sponsorship raised makes such a difference to the lives of the young people at St Catherine’s. The runners braved the cold, gusty October weather in order to run the race, and as a result will be raising sponsorship, for which we are very grateful.”

Looking ahead to next year, the charity has places available for a number of events including the London 10k run and abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower. If you are interested in taking part in a challenge on behalf of St Catherine’s please contact Hannah Davison on 01983 852722 or [email protected].
