Anne Thwaites from the St Lawrence Homeowners Group has been in touch.
VB readers may remember that when the IWC decided to not go ahead with drainage works to Undercliff Drive, residents were told that if they wanted geological theories to help stabilise the road to be tested they would have to pay for a test bore hole to be drilled themselves.
Back in January the cost of drilling a test hole to ascertain the feasibility of drainage works was quoted as being £5,000.
The Homeowners Group are now appealing to anyone who would like to contribute to the fund to cover the cost.
Although many may feel this cost should be covered by those that live on the road, you might want to consider contributing if you enjoy driving along Undercliff Drive. In our opinion, it’s got to be one of the most beautiful roads on the Island.
