Much-loved television actor Kevin Whately has joined Martin Freeman (The Office) in adding his name to the star-studded guest list for the Island’s Minghella Movie Marathon, on March 13 to 15.
Kevin found fame playing the part of Neville the joiner in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and has since had leading roles in many successful TV dramas.
Though possibly most widely known for his portrayal as Sergeant Robbie Lewis in Inspector Morse, he appeared in Anthony Minghella’s Oscar-winning film The English Patient, and will be among the guests at its gala screening and reception.
Organisers have also announced that everyone who ‘runs the marathon’ by attending all the films at Medina Theatre and CineWorld over the weekend, will win an exclusive event poster signed by the celebrity guests, so far to include Jude Law, Alan Rickman, Michael Maloney and Lord Puttnam.
Anyone wishing to attend can still purchase tickets for all the festival events.
Further details and up to the minute news can found at The Festival Website.
