One of the amazing things about the Island, in particular the southern side, is the stunning view of the stars that you get.
Once you start looking, you see tons of them. Quite humbling it is too.
It’s no coincidence that this weekend there’s a Star Party being held at the Brighstone Holiday Centre, located well-south, along the Military Road. An area with very little light pollution — ie not many bright lights — essential if you want a good look at the stars.
Saturday sees the Open Day, where we can all go along from 2pm, when for a mere £3 on the gate you can get in to peruse the astro-jumble, look over the trade stands, take part in their raffle (£350+’s worth of prizes) and of course, chat about all things star related.
If that gets your interest you might want to pop along to the Island’s own Planetarium some time too.
