This week sees two coaches from John Cattle’s Skate Club (JCSC) jump out of a plane and skydive their way back down to earth in order to raise much-needed funds for the not-for-profit organisation that runs skateboarding lessons for all ages and abilities on the Isle of Wight.
All the money that’s made will go straight back into the club, so the JCSC team can keep on doing what they love, teaching others about the joys of skateboarding.
Thompson: Things have been a bit more challenging than we would like
As you might imagine, things have not been easy over the last couple of years. Zoe Thompson from JCSC explains,
“We have got to the point where due to the knock-on impact of the last couple of years, our funding reserves are at an all time low.
“This is making things a bit more challenging than we would like.”
Skydive for skateboarding
So to try and raise some much-needed extra cash, two of the club’s skate coaches, Toby and Sean, are going to jump out of a plane next week.
John Cattle says,
“It’s not really how they would love to spend their day, but needs must! They would feel much better about the idea if we can raise £2,000!”
Please donate if you can
At time of publishing the crowdfunding campaign had raised £1,320 from 29 sponsors.
John added,
“So if you can help us out, then please donate. We know it is really tough times for everyone, so if you can’t donate yourself then spread the word. Any help is really appreciated.”
If you’d like to show your support head over to the Just Giving page.
Toby and Sean are due to jump on Tuesday 9th August.
