The number of children, young people (and not so young!) who are taking up skateboarding on the Island is growing.
John Cattle is well-known across the globe as a legendary Isle of Wight skateboarder.
He founded Wight Trash Skateboards in 2004 and now has a popular online shop, bricks and mortar shop in Ryde, a skateboarding team that competes in competitions around the country and skateboarding lessons through his skateclub.

Town councillors effectively block free skateboarding for kids, objecting to Wight Trash branding (updated)
Two councillors in East Cowes have effectively now blocked free skateboarding sessions for kids as they say they don't like the 15-year old Wight Trash name. It's never been an issue in previous years.

Legendary Isle of Wight skateboarder, John Cattle, founded Wight Trash back in 2004. 15 years on and the brand is known around the world, he's running skate session five days a week and will be celebrating five years of having a shop in Ryde this summer.
