The campaign to help save Shanklin Theatre from closure has seen support from many quarters.
We hear from the Friends of Shanklin Theatre today that adding to the long list of supporters are the Sandown and Shanklin Lifeboat team.
The Friends tell us that hundreds of people have already written to the Isle of Wight Council expressing their support for the theatre prior to the meeting in January where the theatre’s future will be decided.
Barrie James of Friends of Shanklin Theatre said “We’ve been really encouraged by the fact that the island community is behind the campaign. Losing the theatre would be a major blow to the cultural and community life of the island and we hope as many people as possible will get behind us and make their views known.”
If you wish to show your support for the theatre then don’t forget the panto, Jack and the Beanstalk on over the festive period.
If you’d also like to write tyo the Council to show your support for the theatre, a draft letter of support can be downloaded from the Friend of Shanklin Theatre Website.
