As well as being Go Yellow Day and UK Older People’s Day, today is also Jeans for Genes Day.
Jeans for Genes is a UK children’s charity that strives to raise awareness and funds for research to help children with genetic disorders.
The once a year event is embraced by people all around the country who want to do something to help those affected by genetic disorders, one of the biggest killer of children under the age of 14.
If genetic disorders have never touched the lives of your family or friends, it’s worth watching some of the videos to get an understanding of what impact they have.
This short film below about Tom who has Cockayne syndrome – a rare premature ageing condition – is heart wrenching, but inspirational.
