Last weekend we had several readers get in touch with us concerned at something they’d seen in Newport.
It was reported that paths in Newport Arboretum had been scattered with pins (or tacks).
It was believed they had been spread deliberately and was reported to the council.
Aware of the danger to children walking barefoot, pets and wildlife, the council acted swiftly clearing away the pins by Saturday lunchtime.
Well done to those responsible at the council for their speedy action.
We love a happy ending.
