Swift action by Cowes Lifeboat helps angler in need

An angler in his sixties who sought help when experiencing chest pains while walking along the beach between Gurnard and Thorness, led to Cowes RNLI lifeboat going to his aid yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

The lifeboat, which launched at 12.30pm, took the man to Trinity Landing where an ambulance was waiting to convey him to St Mary’s Hospital for a check-up.

Also responding to the call were Needles coastguards.
