swim the solent for aspire

Swim the Solent this year for Aspire – the spinal injuries charity

Every eight hours someone in the UK is paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury. Aspire provide practical help to spinal injured people across the UK, supporting them from injury to independence.

If you’re thinking of doing a swimming challenge this year, why not consider raising funds for Aspire.

The Aspire Solent swim
For 2016, Aspire has made Solent swimming even better than before with more choice and a bigger challenge.

This year you have the option to swim either from the mainland to the Island or from the Island to the mainland.

For those of you who want the ultimate Solent challenge, we are now offering a two way Solent swim.

Over 100 people have successfully crossed the Solent with Aspire, with a group of Year 8s from Taunton Preparatory school becoming the youngest ever successful swimmers in 2015.

Less than three miles
This two and a half to three mile challenge from Fort Gilkicker to Ryde Sands is very achievable for most swimmers, and Aspire will be on hand to ensure you are ready for the challenge and have a great day out.
