Symphony Orchestra Concert In Celebration of Queen’s Jubilee

IW Symphony OrchestraThis Saturday, 26th May, the Isle of Wight’s own superb Symphony Orchestra will be celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a ‘Last night of the Proms’ type concert at Medina Theatre starting at at 7.30pm.

Come along and get your own Jubilee festivities off to a good start with some rousing music fit for the Queen! Why not get into the spirit of the occasion and come dressed in red, white and blue.

Entertaining programme
The programme will feature many short and entertaining pieces which have links with Royalty including the fabulous Cockaigne Overture by Elgar, The Three Elizabeths suite by Eric Coates, and the Orb and Sceptre March by William Walton and will be compèred by conductor, Jonathan Butcher, who always has an interesting story to tell!

The concert will conclude with a “Last Night of the Proms” style finale featuring all the usual favourites, together with the expected audience participation (flags will be available)!
