Jacob going over the hurdles

Talented Isle of Wight athlete seeking financial support to compete in next year’s NatWest Island Games

Gifted and talented athlete, Jacob Patey, is looking for support to successfully bring medals home at The NatWest Island Games next year.

At 17 years of age, Jacob has been selected to compete in the 110 and 400 metres hurdles. In the 110 hurdles, Jacob is currently achieving a top ten, under 20, UK ranking.

Competing since primary school
After joining the Isle of Wight Athletics Club with his twin brother, Noah, at a primary school age, they both competed in Wessex League and Cross-Country events throughout the years and where Jacob’s passion and commitment began into the world of athletics.

Hampshire Schools Champion
Jacob has now excelled himself in 400 metres Hurdles and is currently the Hampshire Schools Champion (two years running).

More recently Jacob has stepped up into adult height 110 metres, achieving an incredible time in this discipline.

Show your support
With the fantastic family support of Vida and Sam (Mum and Dad), a GoFundMe page has been created to hopefully enable Jacob to compete in Guernsey next July.

Any donations for Jacob and the family would greatly be appreciated. Jacob’s twin brother, Noah, is currently on the reserve list for the 3,000 metres Steeplechase for The NatWest Island Games and if successful will also be seeking sponsorship to attend.
